Kyoto Bench

The Kyoto Bench is constructed of solid Northwest old-growth cedar. Wood for the seat was flown by helicopter from a virgin forests in the wilds of British Columbia and aged at the studio. The base wood came from San Juan Island cedars that were removed to form building sites. The logs were milled at the studio, and then aged inside on racks for five years.

The bench is constructed using joinery without nails or screws.

The seat is natural or stained red. Legs are covered with Chinese red, emerald green or black enamel paint. Unpainted surfaces are finished with hand-rubbed varnish. All surfaces are waxed.
